Kohala Coastline Relay_FINAL_DIGITAL-04.

Kiholo Bay to Kawaihae Surf Park

 Big Island, Hawaii

Aloha Unlimited Productions revolutionized outrigger canoe paddling in 2019 with the Kohala Coastline Relay and it's back for 2021.  This race entails teams of 18 racing unlimited canoes in three legs, which include: men, women, and mixed crews, respectively (approximately 7 miles each).  The race begins at Kiholo Bay with transitions at Anaeho'omalu Bay, Hapuna Beach, and finish at Surf Park in Kawaihae.  At these transitions, shallow water changes occur.  See maps below.
 
Registration must be done online and prior to the event.  An email with the release of liability forms will be sent to the team captain.  All forms must be brought to the start of the race in order to proceed.  See you there!

Keauhou Bay to Anaeho'omalu Bay

Big Island, Hawaii

This event entails teams of 18 racing Unlimited Outrigger Canoes from Keauhou Bay to Anaeho’omalu Bay in three legs, which include: mixed, women, and men crews respectively. Mixed will start in Keauhou and paddling approximately 10 miles to Honokohau Harbor where the women will jump in and hand off at Kua Bay (~13 miles). Here the mixed crews will take the helm and paddle to and finish at Anaeho'omalu Bay (~13 miles).

Below are the details concerning this year’s race:

  • 8 am start at Keauhou Bay

  • 3 Relay Legs approximately ranging between 10-13miles.

  • Finisher Item, Awards, and Luncheon included for participants (collared shirt and dress-up attire required), additional tickets available for friends & family.

10am start (get the winds going)

This event is to encourage women to be strong ocean athletes.  Our "Water Women of the Sea" event is for OC1, OC2, OC6, SUP, Prone, V1, and surfs.  At this point our course if from Kiholo to 'Anaeho'omalu Bay (course subject to change for safety reasons).  This is an all women's event.
